Feeding Our People

November 3, 2009

Episcopal Charities of Southeast Florida is determined to respond to the growing numbers of hungry people throughout our Diocese.

Offering funding and program support, EC’s Feeding our People2010 Diocesan-wide initiative will seek to increase funding for its feeding program partners, offer congregations resources and assistance in developing and implementing feeding and feeding-related ministries [such as becoming a Food Stamps application site, a free summer children’s lunch site, organizing food drives], provide ‘best practices’ for food pantry and soup kitchen operations, and encourage collaborative ministry efforts through ‘round-table’ gatherings of  feeding ministry leaders.

You can support this initiative and help thousands be fed. Visit www.ecsefl.org for more information, and to offer a financial gift to support our work.

Episcopal Charities has a new articulation of its mission and vision, born out of a board retreat held in August, 2009.

Our Mission

Community Caring Center gardening with the children. We partner with and empower the people of our Diocese in answering God’s call to respond to human needs.

Our Vision

The vision of Episcopal Charities is to partner with every congregation in building a culture of philanthropy and launching 100 new outreach ministries by 2015. These ministries serve disadvantaged youth and their families, elderly and homeless persons, regardless of their religious affiliation.

Our Values

We value equally Christ-centered compassion, faithful stewardship, justice, service, and community.

Give Smart!

July 22, 2009

Did you know that when you donate to Episcopal Charities of Southeast Florida, you are ‘giving smart’?

Episcopal Charities supports the work of non-sectarian outreach programs throughout the geographic area of the Diocese of Southeast Florida – Monroe through Martin counties.  Our programs offer critical services – feeding, after school, elder care – in local communities where the need has escalated astronomically in the past year. We oversee the enormous work of our program partners, and are always available to lend operational support. When you give to Episcopal Charities, you know your hard-earned money is going to deserving programs and communities!

It’s so easy to support our work. Just click on the ‘Donate Now’ button that appears on our website pages at www.ecsefl.org – and you will be able to offer your one-time or recurring gift online. It only takes a few minutes…and your gift will help so many who need so much.

Thank you for giving smart!

Dear Friends,

Welcome to Episcopal Charities of Southeast Florida. I’m glad you are visiting today!

Episcopal Charities is the charitable and philanthropic arm of the Episcopal Diocese of Southeast Florida. We provide funding for parish-based outreach programs, we assist parishes and parishioners when disaster strikes, and we offer assistance and resources to parishes setting up planned giving programs to provide for the future of their communities of faith.

In all our work, we seek to be faithful to the Baptismal Covenant, those promises we made before God, our neighbors and in our own hearts at our baptisms:

– to proclaim by word and example the Good News of God in Christ

– to  seek and serve Christ in all persons, loving our neighbors as ourselves

– to strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being

Join us and renew your own Baptismal Covenant! I ask you to consider making a financial gift that will support Episcopal Charities in our work – your contribution is tax-deductible and a blessing to us and to those we serve. Contact us for assistance with your parish-based outreach programming or for help setting up your parish’s planned giving program. Support us with your time and talent. Your support helps Episcopal Charities of Southeast Florida help the diocesan community which is the Body of Christ made alive.

May God richly bless you!

The Rev. Donna Lise Dambrot
